Strawberry Jam
Ingredients
- 2 cups crushed strawberries
- 4 cups sugar
- 3/4 cups water
- 1 package Sure Jell Fruit Pectin
Instructions
- Crush strawberries, one cup at a time. Jam should have bits of fruit, but should be finely chopped. Place 2 cups strawberries and 4 cups of sugar in a bowl. Mix together. Let stand for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- While sugar/fruit mixture is standing stir 1 box fruit pectin and 3/4 cup water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil on high heat, stirring constantly. Once it boils, continue to boil for 1 minute. Keep stirring!!
- Stir the pectin mixture into the fruit mixture. Stir constantly until sugar is completely dissolved and no longer grainy, which is about 3 minutes.
- Pour into clean containers. leaving 1/2 inch space at the top for expansion during freezing. Cover.
- Let stand at room temperature for 24 hours until set. Refrigerate for up to 3 weeks or store in a freezer for up to 1 year.
